Honoring Loss Moms – Randi’s Story

Mike Archer

I’m so honored and excited to be able to share Randi’s story.  She is an incredible person and an amazing Mother. She has been such a huge support to me, and often when I read her blog posts, I feel like they were written just for me. She has always been so open and honest about her feelings regardless of how difficult that can be. I hope she touches your life like she has mine!

Name– Randi Hayes
Angel baby name– Kenley Alden Hayes
Type of loss– Stillbirth @ 38w4d
Home state– Ohio
Best advice you’ve received–  The best advice has probably been to allow myself to feel whatever I’m feeling. Don’t feel guilty for all the emotions I have, and be kind to myself.
Favorite place you’ve ever visited– My favorite place has to be Nags Head NC. We went there for our Honeymoon in 2010!
Biggest accomplishment– Surviving 2016 without Kenley. I know that some people wouldn’t understand how this could be my biggest accomplishment…but it really is. Everything else in my life has been cake compared to this.
Ways you honor your angel– I honor her by saying her name. I honor her by reaching out to other loss moms, and blogging for them to see that their grief and anger and pain is normal. We donate to charities in her name. I have created care packages and donated them to the hospital in her honor. After she died, I taught myself to crochet, and made a bunch of hats for stillborn babies where Kenley was born.
Describe yourself in 4 words– Wow. This is hard. Mother, Wife, Daughter, Friend.
What food you’ve never tried and why– Venison…I cannot think about eating a deer! Not interested in knowing how Bambi tastes!!!
What inspires you– My children. I don’t know what I ever did without them in my life
