From the moment we lost our little girl I knew that honoring her was something that I needed to do in order to feel some peace. Since we live thousands of miles from family we were not able to do a memorial for her. I bounced ideas around with my husband and I think the pressure of throwing something together would get to me and I would put it off. Once I found out that October was pregnancy and infant loss awareness month I thought that’s perfect we’re doing something. We chose the 15th because it is International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.
When those balloons go up this evening they will not only be for our little girl but for all the other beautiful babies that were taken too soon. I recently looked at the statistics of how many pregnancies/babies are lost each year. I was blown away with the numbers. Had we not suffered this tragedy and joined this special group of families, I would have never known how many people are suffering. Sadly more and more families will suffer from this tragedy as time goes on and my hope is to spread awareness on this subject.
We hope that everyone will participate in this special day!!
